Lafayette Square Park
Lafayette Square Park sits directly across from the White House in Washington, D.C., bordered by Pennsylvania Avenue NW, H Street NW, and 15th Street NW. Dating back to 1833, this park was originally designed as a public space but eventually became a site for protests and public gatherings, making it a vibrant part of the city's political landscape. The park features a collection of 10 statues, including the equestrian statue of General Marquis de Lafayette, after whom the park is named. In the spring, particularly in April and May, visitors can enjoy the blooming cherry blossom trees that provide a lovely backdrop for leisurely strolls. While there, guests can wander the well-maintained paths and enjoy views of the White House, all while soaking in a piece of Washington's rich history.
