Viharamahadevi Park
Viharamahadevi Park sits prominently along Sirimavo Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo, adjacent to the majestic Town Hall. Established in the 19th century, this park is named after the mother of Sri Lankan independence leader, S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, making it a site of historical significance. Spanning 18 hectares, its main feature is a sprawling landscape that includes a children's playground, well-maintained walking paths, and vibrant floral displays. Visitors can explore a variety of native plant species and even catch sight of the park's resident birds. While it attracts locals year-round, the best blooms typically appear during the months of April and May, adding to the park’s appeal.
