« Tickets to Krabi are purchased, costing 22 USD for two. It's a 12-hour journey. The bus is excellent, with plenty of space, and the seats recline almost into beds, complete with soft footrests. Overall, it's very comfortable. They provide a blanket since the air conditioning is quite strong, as is typical. The ticket price includes a free dinner in one of the towns along the way. The food is decent, Thai cuisine, and I enjoyed it. So, if you didn't purchase a cheap flight with AirAsia ahead of time, which usually costs around 110 USD on the spot, the sleeper bus is the most affordable, comfortable, and quickest way to get to Krabi Town from Bangkok. »

« This is what the road to the beach looks like. On both sides, there are tons of small shops selling clothes, souvenirs, and all kinds of snacks. You can find a massage place every 5 meters, just like authentic restaurants offering local and other cuisines.

Prices here are quite high compared to other places in Thailand, but you can definitely negotiate down by more than 30% from the initially stated price. Still, that won't guarantee you a fair deal, as the prices are shockingly inflated. 😲 You can buy water, beer, and other usual items at convenience stores like 7-Eleven or FamilyMart, where prices are quite reasonable. 😉 »

« "Railay is a peninsula beyond Ao Nang beach. It's peppered with numerous beaches, the most famous and glorious of which is Pranang. We made a point of exploring all the beaches and the Dimond Cave. It's overwhelmingly beautiful, unusual and would have been a great experience if not for the horde of people there. The peninsula itself is indeed very striking, really, but the number of people per square meter is mind-boggling! Their unusually large numbers and the boats bringing in more and more people every 10 minutes can be a bit overwhelming. Hence, I discarded the idea of visiting Phi Phi Islands or the like. The sight of the crowd there would be exhausting to the mind and eyes. But a visit to at least Railay is definitely worth it. To get there is a 15 minutes boat ride that costs $6 round-trip, but the views are definitely worth it. Speaking of boats, the ones in the photos are the ones that ferry people. They've now become my favorite mode of transportation! The smooth ride, with the breeze and splashes of sea water...mmm...it's pure pleasure." »

« It's a bit strange here. The accommodation is great, the price is excellent, but everything else is more expensive... Quite the contrasts, I must say. »

« Souvenirs, beaches, supermarket. The owner wanted to charge me 15,000 baht instead of 1,500 during checkout. She "forgot" the comma when calculating the electricity bill. I've always struggled with math because of these issues, so I quickly found the mistake. The moped rental owners stapled the deposit to the receipt! A taxi for a 30-minute ride costs around 1,000 baht. In the end, it was a whole day of haggling and searching. »

« We spent the morning at Railay. It's incredibly beautiful, the water is amazing, the sand is super fine (I've never seen anything like it) and feels pleasant to the touch (like flour). There are boats around, but it still feels very peaceful. The beach is just perfect for families with kids. Nice entry into the water, plenty of shade, and lots of children (great for playing together). However, the number of people is huge!! Just like in peak season back in Crimea on the beaches of Yalta, especially after lunch. There’s a small pedestrian street, if you can call it that. Prices for goods and at cafes are higher than in Ao Nang. There’s no place to buy fruits right on the beach, so we were glad we brought some with us. Overall, I really liked the beach. I think you can easily spend time here from early morning until lunch. »

« Initially, we thought that after a month in Thailand, we would take a 5-day trip to Langkawi Island in Malaysia, return, and easily get a new stamp for another month. But there are various rumors that the Thai authorities can be quite strict at the border and might send you back home. So, we decided to go directly for a visa, traveling from Samui to Penang. This little adventure took just two days and cost us around $500 for two people! »

« It seems to me that entering this paid ($0.25) restroom even in shoes is not very pleasant, and the requirement to take them off looks completely odd. :) »

« "From our window, in the room for $7 a night, we have this thaistyle view." »

« We successfully missed our boat to Phi-Phi, but there's no bad without good. We spent a whole $19 to spend another day in Ao Nang, but in a different place. 🌊😊 »

« Renting a place in Bali for a short term is super easy, but Krabi is a different story. There’s a commercial real estate site plus a resource with a catalog of houses marked on a map, detailed descriptions, photos, and contact info for the owners. Unfortunately, I couldn’t understand the locals over the phone since their English wasn’t the best. I had to explore all the options myself. Thankfully, Ao Nang is walkable, with sidewalks everywhere. The price/quality ratio isn’t great, as I was warned. I was lucky to find a wonderful little house with a pool, fast internet, and close to the mountains for about 700 baht per day. »

« I'm flying to Bangkok for a couple of days. The one-way ticket cost me about $10 – Thai Lion is quite the low-cost airline! »
@irshapiro
« You can only reach Railey Beach by boat as it's separated by cliffs. The price is 100 baht per person, and the ride takes about 10 minutes on a long-tail boat. It's a little paradise. »

« Today we headed to KRABI TOWN! We rode a motorbike to Ao Nang, then caught a tuk-tuk for 1.40 USD per person and made our way to the town! We strolled around, got a bit wet, and visited the "VOGUE" mall, where we ended up buying some stuff! 😂 Then we got hungry and found an Italian restaurant! (Just saying, many people miss their home cuisine… but you don't have to suffer, just look for what you want! There’s even a restaurant called "Nasha Rasha" in Ao Nang! 😂) After that, we headed to the next hypermarket called "BIG C". It turned out to be more budget-friendly than the first one, so we stocked up! By the way, I got a pair of denim shorts for 1.40 USD! 😂 I was so thrilled I had to hold my eyes open to keep them from popping out with excitement! »

« Riding our motorbike, we set off on another quest for accommodation... We saw plenty of different options, from a frankly shabby place for $10 a night to luxurious rooms for around $225. Then we stumbled upon an amazing hotel!!! The views are just unreal! It hasn't even opened yet, with check-in starting on December 15, so if we decide to book, we'll be the first guests!!!!))) The room is currently priced at $75 per night (eventually it will go up to about $100-$120...) We managed to negotiate it down to $54... that's a great price, but we're looking for a long-term stay... and it adds up quite a bit(((( $1,300 seems okay, but given our situation back home - that's already a bit of a "reach"(( »

« Thailand is such a colorful country! If you’re tired of enjoying the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, you can dive into the mainland and feel the atmosphere of the vibrant jungles.

Waking up early, before breakfast, we headed to the mainland. Our adventure began with some extreme rafting (tackling a mountain river in a boat). We had to navigate 5 km down the river, overcoming numerous rapids while balancing on the water to avoid capsizing. It’s truly exhilarating! Especially when someone from another boat jumps into the river in fright because a 1.5-meter snake crawled in! You should have seen everyone screaming and running while locals whacked the snake with their paddles. In short, it was “scary fun.”

Don’t worry, everyone survived! After that, we went elephant riding through the jungle. These lovely giants move like big ships, clumsily yet gracefully on their massive legs, evoking nothing but affection. Elephants live similarly to humans and can die from hunger because their teeth wear down. 😢 Then we took a dip in a beautiful waterfall and visited a cave temple inhabited by monkeys. The excursion costs around $20 and takes up the whole day. »
