Marble Mountains
Rising above the surrounding landscape, Marble Mountains, or Ngũ Hành Sơn, is located about 9 kilometers south of Da Nang's city center, near the famous My Khe Beach. Dating back to the 19th century, these limestone hills are known for their caves, tunnels, and pagodas that reflect rich cultural history rooted in Buddhism. The mountains serve as a popular destination for both locals and tourists, where visitors can explore the impressive pagodas and take in panoramic views of the city and the South China Sea from the peaks, which reach up to 696 meters in height. During the Lunar New Year in January or February, the site becomes particularly lively with various festivities. As you wander through, keep an eye out for the many species of flora and fauna, including unique stone sculptures and intricate carvings tucked into the mountainside.
