  Son Tra Peninsula, also known as Monkey Mountain, rises prominently along the coast just north of Da Nang’s city center. This area has been historically significant, serving as a strategic military point during the Vietnam War, with remnants of fortifications still visible today. The peninsula is primarily recognized for its lush natural landscapes and thriving wildlife, most notably the endangered red-shanked douc langurs, which can often be spotted in the trees. Open year-round, visitors can explore the well-marked hiking trails and enjoy panoramic views of the South China Sea from the Linh Ung Pagoda, which houses a large 67-meter tall statue of the Lady Buddha.
