Alpenzoo Innsbruck
Alpenzoo Innsbruck sits at the foot of the Nordkette mountains, just a short distance from the city center. Established in 1962, this unique zoo specializes in the wildlife of the Alpine region, showcasing over 150 species native to the area. With its layout cascading over a 14-acre site, visitors can observe animals like the Alpine ibex and golden eagle in naturalistic enclosures. The zoo is especially vibrant in July and August, when many young animals are on display. Strolling along the well-maintained pathways, you can enjoy not just the wildlife, but also panoramic views of Innsbruck and the surrounding landscapes.
