Fort Lovrijenac
Fort Lovrijenac stands at the edge of a rocky cliff just outside the city walls of Dubrovnik, offering breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. Built in the 11th century, this impressive fortress played a crucial role in protecting the city from invading forces, but it is perhaps best known as the filming location for King’s Landing in the Game of Thrones series. Today, Fort Lovrijenac serves as a cultural site, hosting various performances, including the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, which takes place every July and August. Visitors can explore its well-preserved ramparts and enjoy panoramic views while learning about its rich history and architectural significance. Don’t forget to check out the small chapel dedicated to St. Lawrence within the fort's walls!
