Larnaca Medieval Castle
Built in the 14th century, Larnaca Medieval Castle sits by the picturesque Finikoudes Beach, guarding the entrance to Larnaca's ancient harbor. Originally constructed for defensive purposes, this fortress was later converted into a prison and a barracks. Visitors can explore its well-preserved structure, which includes impressive stone walls and a small museum showcasing artifacts from its storied past. The castle opens its doors throughout the year, but it’s particularly charming in the spring months, when the surrounding gardens bloom. Inside, you can admire views of the Mediterranean Sea and enjoy exhibitions that provide insight into the region's rich history.
