Palais Longchamp
Palais Longchamp sits at the edge of the 4th arrondissement in Marseille, serving as a stunning historical monument and cultural center. Built between 1852 and 1869, it was designed to celebrate the construction of the Canal de Marseille, which brought fresh water to the city. Dominated by its grand fountain and cascading waterfalls, the site also houses the Musée des beaux-arts and the Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Marseille. Visitors can explore its extensive gardens, which feature over 50 different species of trees and plants. The gardens are particularly vibrant in April and May when the flora is in full bloom, offering a welcoming space for picnicking and leisurely strolls.
