Wilhelma

  Wilhelma is a unique zoological and botanical garden located in Stuttgart's Bad Cannstatt district. Opened in 1846, it was originally built as a royal villa and is one of the few combined zoos and botanical gardens in Europe, featuring over 11,000 animals representing around 1,000 species. The expansive park covers approximately 60 hectares and includes stunning gardens, greenhouses, and historical buildings, such as the iconic Moorish-style entrance. Spring is a fantastic time to visit as the flowers bloom and many animals are particularly active. Visitors can explore various attractions, including the aquarium, tropical greenhouse, and specially designed enclosures that mimic natural habitats.
