Lycabettus Hill

  Rising above the city, Lycabettus Hill offers a unique vantage point in Athens, specifically in the Kolonaki neighborhood. This iconic hill, which stands at 300 meters, has been a popular destination since ancient times, and legend has it that the hill was formed from the rock removed by the goddess Athena when constructing the Acropolis. Visitors can take a scenic funicular ride up the hill or hike one of the several winding paths that lead to the summit, where they’ll discover a quaint chapel and stunning panoramic views of the city below. Particularly beautiful in spring, especially in April, the area is alive with blooming wildflowers.
