Fisherman's Bastion

  Fisherman's Bastion sits atop the Buda hills in Budapest, adjacent to the historic Matthias Church. Built between 1895 and 1902, it was designed in a neo-Romanesque style to provide panoramic views of the Danube River and Pest. Originally intended as a lookout and a part of the fortification system, the structure features seven towers symbolizing the seven Magyar tribes that founded Hungary. Visitors can explore its terraces year-round, but it’s particularly lively in mid-June when visitors flock to enjoy the beautiful weather and vibrant atmosphere. From its vantage points, you can admire the Parliament Building and the Chain Bridge, making it a perfect spot for photos and sight-seeing.
