« Feskekörka ("Fish Church"). Gothenburg, Sweden. The market building, designed by architect Victor von Gegerfelt and completed in 1874, indeed resembles a church. Besides its primary purpose of trading fresh fish and seafood, Feskekörka is also famous for the iconic restaurant Gabriel, offering the best seafood dishes in the city for takeout, wine and oyster tastings, presentations of Scandinavian products, and even (!!!) wedding ceremonies. I highly recommend visiting during your trip to Western Sweden. It's open five days a week: Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 🐟✨ »
To witness the action at Sweden's largest fish auction, head to Fiskhamn in the early morning and check out the fish market. While the public can't participate in the bidding, you'll definitely encounter top chefs from Gothenburg and Swedish suppliers competing for the famous treasures of the West Coast. »
