Getting Around

Metro
Stockholm's Metro costs 44 SEK for a single adult ticket (available via the SL app or vending machines) and operates from 5am to 1am, connecting key areas like Gamla Stan and Södermalm. For a money-saving hack, consider the 30-day pass at 880 SEK if you're staying longer as it grants unlimited travel throughout the city, including buses and trams.
Taxi
In Stockholm, taxis are widely available around the city and cost approximately 450-600 SEK for a ride to Gamla Stan from T-Centralen, but always opt for payment via credit card to avoid surge pricing. Insider tip: pre-book a taxi through a reputable company like Taxi Stockholm or Uber for a fixed fare, ensuring you don't fall prey to overcharging by street taxis, especially late at night.

« 📍 Gamla Stan, Sweden. A street where the palaces used to reside, just two steps from the Royal Palace. It feels cozy. 🙌🏿

In Sweden, there's a law that allows only representatives of scientific and creative elites to stay in all historically significant places of old towns and the area of the palaces 🤷‍♀️💡 The average cost of rentals here is around $1,200 for a small apartment, with higher-end places significantly more expensive. The remaining costs are covered by the government. »

« 🇸🇪 Here in Scandinavia, Stockholm, two days might not be enough... More like three might be needed... even that... For some reason, I particularly didn't fall in love with this place.

I mean, not that I dislike it! 🤔 The city is certainly nice, but it just wasn't for me. 😕

First, I didn't see what I desperately wanted to see... (not that it wasn't there, but because we didn't have time to reach it). And second, people. Honestly, Scandinavians didn't strike me as the most friendly (especially since you have to pay for a cup of coffee in cafes! 😢💸💵).

But, disregarding that) we must say it is definitely worth visiting.

A very beautiful place and incredibly tasty (local drink like glintwein), which they serve with a delicious cookie shaped like a heart 💖! »

« The first place you absolutely need to visit in 🇺🇸 is the stunning Grand Canyon! 🏞️ Surprisingly, there used to be massive flotillas here, but now they are preserved beautifully. You can only see a single expedition here, but it’s totally worth it to visit this magnificent area! 🌄 »

« My dad used to say "beautiful to the point of nausea." I totally get it! For anyone wondering which European city to visit, I highly recommend Stockholm. It's a stunning city of northern beauty, the capital of Sweden with a population close to a million. Founded nearly 700 years ago, it sits on islands connected by 57 bridges. »

« A day in Stockholm! Well, guys, this city is incredibly beautiful. You can't just spend one day or even two here. I definitely need to come back and see everything I didn't have time for today. »

« The narrowest street in Stockholm has a width of just 90 cm. Prague may have narrower streets, but I liked this one more. »

« Overall, I really like Stockholm. It's a northern, naturally beautiful, rugged, large, light-haired, and very design-oriented city. Even the water bottles here look like beautiful artifacts ❤️ »

« Lots of docks, many yachts, and a whole lot of water. :) Stockholm is a city sprawled across islands, so you can get around in three ways - subway, bus, and water transport.

It's really cool and quite different, though to be honest, a bit pricey. We quickly explored the city since we only had six hours. But we loved it and we definitely want to come back to take everything in and enjoy the city. :) »

« Stockholm was really nice, kind of reminds you of Vienna and Prague. But as you go along, the prices just keep getting higher and higher. 😅 »

« The streets in Stockholm are amazing! 😊 You look at them from the outside and it feels just like a beautiful European city, but once you step inside, it has its own unique charm. When it comes to cleanliness, Europe may have fewer people, but the situation isn’t always that different when it comes to litter. And honestly, you can find good and affordable food here compared to Scandinavia! So a sandwich is definitely a tourist's best friend! 🥪 »

« My little steps in conquering the world) Stockholm is a beautiful city, where I managed to relax, enjoy the nature and architecture, and visit a huge number of attractions. Sweden – I will return! 😊🌍 »
