Griffith Observatory
Griffith Observatory sits at 2800 E Observatory Road in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. Built in 1935, it has served as a public observatory and a key center for astronomy education, drawing over 1.5 million visitors each year. One of its main features is the 12-inch Zeiss refracting telescope, allowing guests to view celestial objects up close. Free public telescopes are available to use many evenings, giving visitors a chance to gaze at stars and planets, while the stunning views of the Los Angeles skyline add to the experience. During July and August, the Summer Star Parties offer a unique opportunity to join astronomers for guided observations.
