« Guangzhou feels nothing like Shanghai. After the humid and rainy atmosphere of Shanghai, we ended up... in the humidity of Guangzhou. But it's totally different, more southern. Despite it being February, the city is lush and colorful—flowers everywhere. And there’s also a stunning sight! Pink! Wood! Even if it's not real wood, it beautifully colors the city center! If we're being serious, Guangzhou has its own charm. The skyscrapers are barely taller than the ones in Shanghai, and they don’t clash with the trees, greenery, and flowers.

The weather has this warm, southern tempering—today it's raining lightly with thick mist, and tomorrow you’ll be in a t-shirt enjoying the sun, because it can get hot, so bring on the rain, please! The locals here, in my opinion, are way friendlier than in Shanghai. Overall, if you’re lacking warmth, palm trees, sunshine, greenery, and colored flowers—head over to Guangzhou! Even in February, you can warm your heart there. 🌺🌞 »

« In this same park, as mentioned in previous posts, there is a stunning 40-meter statue of the Goddess Guanyin. This figure represents a feminine image, a savior of those suffering from all kinds of hardships; a protector of children and families, and a symbol of maternal compassion. The representation is linked to the Buddhist Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, but Guanyin is regarded as embodying practically all aspects of Chinese Buddhism. On a clear, sunny day, the golden statue shines beautifully in the sunlight, facing the east, as if the Goddess herself is gazing towards the rising sun. ☀️✨ »

It must be so great to live in a place where it’s almost always warm ☀️
Where you can visit any month and either watch the birds at the lake or see animals in the zoo 🦁

« When I first set out to visit Guangzhou in southern China, I knew and hoped that the city would impress me. After spending a couple of days exploring, I had no idea just how amazing it really was! 😊 »

« I love Guangzhou, but I couldn't live there. There are cities where I feel good being, and then there are those that I enjoy returning to from time to time. That's Guangzhou for me; I can wander around for a long time, but after a couple of days, I really feel the pull to go home. »

« That's why even Chinese slums look more atmospheric than our residential areas? Well, as they say, it's better where we are not. »

« I love the night. Everything looks better at night. You can't see the trash or bad weather. I love night cities. Guangzhou is definitely going to be one of them! It's dark now, which means it's time to go for a walk! »

« We were overwhelmed in Guangzhou. The city is all about trade. We experienced rush hour in the subway. It’s quite impressive. And, to be honest, we were like a curiosity to them; people stared and asked to take photos with us. 😊 »

« Nighttime NewTown, Guangzhou. This is the very modernity that occupies a significant place in China. The atmosphere in the city is great, and being there and walking around is pure pleasure. »

« The first impression of the city, made two weeks ago, proved to be accurate - during my second visit, the Chinese didn't become any more polite or well-mannered. »

« A pigeon and the "light" smog over Guangzhou. Smog is a frequent guest in Chinese cities, but pigeons are not. People here enjoy eating them, but I liked the photo; it looks like a picture 😊 »
@elchaninova
« Sometimes, just when you think Guangzhou isn't so bad with its warm climate and all, the smog rolls in. And it lingers for days. Buildings turn gray, and my voice gets a bit raspy.

In Beijing, it's like that every day. No way, that's not for me. »
@vladik_kor
« I will definitely come back here more than once, I'm sure. There is so much to share about my impressions of this city that there simply isn't enough space for it all. »

« In China, it was wonderful... Guangzhou, the city of golden houses. »

« In Guangzhou, there's a blend of styles and eras everywhere. But I really like their high-rise buildings. They look quite impressive. »

« Guangzhou amazes with its grandeur. I’ve been to Hong Kong, Jakarta, Paris, traveled around Italy, and I thought I had seen it all, but then I visited here, and everything changed. »
