Getting Around

Bus
Marrakech's bus service costs 4 MAD per ride, operating from 6am to 11pm and covering key areas like Jemaa el-Fnaa and the Medina. For a smoother experience, avoid peak hours (8am-9am and 6pm-7pm) to dodge crowded buses and long waits.
Taxi
Marrakech's taxis, both red petits (smaller) and grand taxis (larger, for longer distances), are widely available 24/7 and typically cost around 7-15 MAD for short trips within the city; always ensure the meter is running or agree on a fare before hopping in. To save some money, consider sharing a grand taxi from the central train station to the nearby Saadian Tombs, as this typically costs around 50 MAD per person.

« Last year, the Museum of Yves Saint Laurent opened in Marrakech, making it even more appealing for lovers of fashion and high art. This isn’t just any museum; it's a true cultural hub showcasing a permanent exhibition of works by the renowned couturier along with a shop, café, and spaces for contemporary exhibitions and concerts. The museum is situated next to the Majorelle Garden, where the maestro drew inspiration.

Definitely try to visit both attractions, so be sure to head to the ticket office of the new museum first (often there are no lines), and get a combined ticket. The ticket line for the Majorelle Garden can be notably long, and the tickets there are the same. This little shortcut should save you around 30 minutes of waiting time. »

« News from the African continent! 👋🏿🌿 Yesterday, I landed in Marrakech 🤪 Right now, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, I'm recording audio in my Telegram 📡🏃🏽‍♀️🏃‍♂️✈️💨 Even if customs and baggage claim were a mess, I haven't lost everything yet 😅

Marrakech excites and surprises, the smells here are a bit off, but the people are incredibly welcoming. While it might not be worth reminiscing about, you can definitely leave your phone behind—what a contrast it is! Yes...the flora here is absolutely astonishing, the colors are just divine! 😍😍😍🌳🌳🌳

I'll be sharing more soon from the locals' perspective 😂 Everyone is lovely here! 🌳 A little more, and I might be hanging out with the locals! 💕 »

« It lacks sunlight and bright colors, but in the off-season, it feels like there are Moroccan postcards everywhere. 🌿

I stayed in Marrakesh on Medina - the old city. It’s worth venturing out of the hotel as soon as you hit the market, where you can find both quaint trinkets and local produce - everything your heart desires! 🧑‍🦰🚴‍♂️ As you wander through the narrow streets, locals will greet you on mopeds and bikes, and you’ll be dazzled by the sights.

My last day was unexpectedly lively. At that moment, I had gotten my bearings and the locals were friendly. (The hotel owners and managers have a distinctly European feel about them, which is nice). I was just strolling along when suddenly, a group of young locals stopped me, asking if I didn't know that today was a holiday! What? A holiday on a Friday?

Oh my! At that moment, I couldn’t help but laugh... a holiday on a Friday - what a surprise! 🤣

It turns out that during specific periods, the local Arab population closes their shops and on the weekends, barbershops gear up. Of course, this is mainly a tradition for tourists, but I must say, the local guy I met was quite the character, sharing stories about traditional crafts. In the photo, you can see one of their works - painting the walls with natural dyes. 👨‍🎨🌍 »

« Jardin ANIMA Park is quite small and not super fascinating, but it’s beautiful and has an amazing floral scent. In any case, there aren’t many attractions here, so it’s worth a visit (at least for the photo with the cactus and that giant head). »

« On such a sunny day, with a light morning mist, I longed for my favorite Marrakech!!! To me, it's the feeling of an eastern fairy tale, inspiring and always bringing new emotions!!! Too bad there's no time machine. »
