Getting Around

Tuk-Tuk
Phnom Penh's tuk-tuks are widely available, costing around 1,500-3,000 riel for short trips within the city, and it's best to negotiate the fare before getting in. Always ensure the driver has a clear understanding of your destination, like the Royal Palace, to avoid confusion and potential overcharging.
Taxi
In Phnom Penh, taxis charge around 1,500 to 2,000 riel per kilometer and are readily available throughout the city, especially near landmarks like the Royal Palace and Wat Phnom; opt for Grab for cashless convenience. Always confirm the driver's ID and vehicle details through the app for added safety, and avoid sharing your destination in public to prevent scams.

« POEZDKA V ANKOR: LAYFHAKI 😉⚡️ Billets: vstup v Ankor na 1 den stoit $37, na 3 dnya - $62, 7 dney - $72. Yesli ty ne uprotyy (upėrtyy) fanatik-arheloh s zerkalkoy, to odnogo dnya vpolne dostatochno. Uzhye 6 chasov khod’by po territorii prilično utomlyayut, i vse khramy nachinayut slivat'sya v sozdanii v odin. Yesli khochesh probrat'sya na territoriyu v duke (zaĭtsem, to yest’) - delo tvoye. Nekotorye berut velikiy i ischut lazeki. Dazhe yesli poverkh nakinush’ shal’ v khram ne pustyat, nablyudala takoye lichno. Obuv' - obyazatel'no udobnaya, ne shlepanki. A yeshcho mozhno vzyat' masku na litso, na territorii ochen' pylynno. Kak i vo mnogikh mestakh. ⚡️ Grafik: vyjezhat' na rassvet k Ankor-Vatu v 4 utra dovol'no besponto. Rassvet nachinayetsya v 5:50, to yest' primerno chas nado bude yego zhdat'. Zatō mozhno zaniyat' mesto u kromy ozera, chtoby poshel'kayat rassvetnyy Ankor-Vat. (Khotya mnogie govoryat, chto zakatnye kartochki dazhe poluchshe budut).

⚡️ Transport: my vdvoyom s podrugoy arendovali tuk-tuk na pol'dnya, s 4:30 do 12:00. Tsena $20, posetili 5 khramov, yeshcho i vodichku nam dal. Udobstvo nalitsom - ne privyazano k ekskursionnoi groupp, sam reguliruyesh' marshrut. Takzhe narod ezdit grupami s gidami, libo samostoyatel'no na velokakh (eto trêsh 😱😅)

⚡️ Yeda: rekomenduyu vzyat' s soboy chto-nibud’ perekusit', na territorii vsë, yestestvenno, po mazhorskih tsenakh. Dokhody ot tur.sfery sostavlyayut do 40% (!) VVP strany, poetomu tvoyi zelyonye bumazhki im ochen’ nuzhny. A vot detey kormit’ ne sleduet, kak by ni khotelos'.

⚡️ Istoriya: neplokho bylo by khotyaby nemnogo pochitat' ob istorii khramovogo kompleksa pered poseshheniem, chtoby ne tupo glazet', a ponimat' chto chemu. Ty zhe sozdatel'nyy turistik 😉 »

« Honestly, there isn't much to do in Phnom Penh. The palace, a couple of temples, and the riverside – that’s pretty much it.

For tourists who are "lucky" enough to stick around in Phnom Penh for more than two days, they'll have to check out other significant and popular attractions that are best avoided altogether. »

« In Phnom Penh, like in any capital city, it’s noisy and crowded. And, more typically for an Asian climate, there’s an overwhelming number of scooters that make the air quality almost unbearable. It's definitely not a place to stay for a long break—just a couple of days at most to check out the local attractions. I especially recommend the audio tour of the Killing Fields. »

« Nighttime Phnom Penh resembles Paris (just a very dirty Paris), yet Cambodia used to be a French colony. They sell baguettes here, and the riverside at night is beautiful)) While Ho Chi Minh left me indifferent, I will gladly return to Phnom Penh someday) Yes, it’s dirty, but I don’t mind it) The city has its own character and is quite colorful! 😊 »
