The Town Hall square
The Town Hall Square, nestled in the heart of Riga's Old Town, acts as a vibrant gathering space for both locals and visitors. Dating back to the 13th century, this historically significant area was once the center of the city’s trade and commerce. Today, it features the remarkable House of the Blackheads, a striking structure originally built for a guild of unmarried merchants. In December, the square transforms into a festive scene with Christmas markets, offering handmade crafts and seasonal treats. Visitors can also enjoy the open-air cafés and admire the impressive architecture surrounding the square while soaking in the lively atmosphere.
