Debod's Temple
Debod's Temple sits at Paseo de la Virgen del Puerto in the Arganzuela district of Madrid. Built in the 2nd century BC in Egypt, this ancient temple was a gift from the Egyptian government to Spain in the 20th century to celebrate their assistance in saving significant monuments from the Aswan Dam project. The temple is notable for its impressive granite architecture and stands as a testament to ancient Egyptian culture. Visitors often flock here, especially during sunset in September and October, to enjoy panoramic views of the city. Within the temple complex, guests can explore the remains of the temple and walk around its landscaped grounds, which are home to diverse flora, including various trees indigenous to the region.
